Imagine yourself
in a thatched cottage in a picture book Cornish fishing village
only a few yards away from the beach where boats still launch for
their daily catch. Rene's Cottage is that very place as it stands
as one of four cottages at the entrance to Cadgwith. The pub for
that pint and pasty, the Old Cellars Restaurant for that cream tea
or for fresh cooked lobster and crab sandwiches are both within
easy reach. Here is a place to relax close to the sea. The cottage
has been fully modernised to a very high standard.
Accommodation:

TV and DVD player and a wood burning stove in a stone alcove. First

| A superb weeks stay in this fantastic litle cottage. Good facilities, apart from no ice box in the fridge. As has been previously said mind your head, but you soon get used to ducking. Most of the locals are friendly (good to see Sharky is still getting out) The fish from the shed in the cove (open about 3ish)and tips on how to cook it as well, what more could you ask. Great place to relax and within easy reach of the local pub. Good ale, pity the owner was away, the food suffered in his absence. Will be back at the end of October for two weeks. Already planning next years visits. Richard and Kate, June 2011 |
| Absolutely delightful place to stay. The little cottage was an absolute gem, (mind your head!!!) such history! Friday night in the pub was so memorable. The cottage was worth every penny, and we would certainly stay there again. John and Sue. May 2011 |

We had an excellent week in this clean and tidy, quaint little thatched cottage. This was one of the few cottages with parking alongside which was a bonus. The view of the sea from outside the front door was beautiful and we were lucky to have blue skies and warm sunshine every day of our stay.
We walked most of the coastal path around the Lizard in glorious weather guided by some books of local walks we bought in the shop in Cadgwith. " Beneath the Skin of the Lizard" was a fascinating geological read as well a a guide to the walks.
Kynance Cove is stunning and a vist there is a must.
The local people were friendly and welcoming and we sang along at the weekly folk evening at the pub.
We did not have to go far to find excellent food at the local cafe/restaurant - The Old Cellars.
The pasties from the Snack Shack takeaway on the Green in Lizard village were meaty and delicious and are reputed to be the best in the area. We can also recommend the tasty crab sandwiches.
All in all an excellent quiet and relaxing out of season holiday away from the crowds.

We recently stayed in Rene's Cottage for a week's holiday from 13th
October 2007 to 20th October 2007. The cottage was lovely, exactly
how we imagined it to be and we had a fantastic holiday. The beaches
around the area were beautifully unspoilt and the walks were great.
We have visited Cadgwith many times previously, but have never stayed
there before, but most definitely will be staying there again. |

A lovely, atmospheric cottage which really brings you into the hear of this lovely fishing village - with a great pub too!
We had the advantage of hugely high waves.
Well worth a visit.

Really enjoyed the stay, cottage very nice and cosy. Cadgwith really is a gem. People really friendly and welcoming, there was something going on every night. Week in the area is just not long enough, there is so much too see. Nice food and Cornish ale at the local pub.
We will be back just as and when we can brace ourselves for the journey from North Yorkshire. |

A perfect, beautiful little cottage brimming over with character. Very much enjoyed the walks on our doorstep before returning to the snug little lounge with the stove burning!!
The Cottage was surprisingly well equipped and well looked after.
Will certainly be back again!!
