Porthleven is another fishing village, larger than Cadgwith, on the western side of the Lizard peninsula facing across Mount’s Bay. Its harbour is a deep inlet from the sea, protected by three sets of granite walls. The area around the harbour is very picturesque with three pubs and several excellent restaurants, including Kota – famous for its seafood. The village is well situated for touring the whole of west Cornwall and is an ideal base for exploring the coast path and magnificent cliff scenery. There are lots of sandy beaches and family attractions nearby. The adjacent Loe Pool is the largest freshwater lake in Cornwall and offers secluded woodland walks and plenty of wildlife. Only three miles away is the quaint old Cornish town of Helston, notable for the Flora Dance. Restormel provides one whole floor of a modern house on the side of the valley. The garden and decking area have panoramic views out to sea and across the village. It has its own access and parking. The nearest beach and the village centre are both within five minutes walk.

Special note: there is a sloping garden which may be unsuitable for the disabled or very young children. The cobbled lane to the property may be difficult for wheelchairs. Washing machine and tumble drier by arrangement with the owner who lives on the upper floor of the property.
