The Lizard peninsula
offers you a truly memorable holiday with beautiful sandy beaches,
unforgettable cliff walks and a very gentle climate. Tucked away at
the end of a quiet lane you will find this wonderful house Ruan Major
Cottage which offers a very high standard of accommodation and attractive
furnishings with much use of textures, fabrics, traditional wooden
beams and whitewashed walls. It is a very lovely place to be (birdsong
may be your only disturbance) and yet the villages of Cadgwith, Ruan
Minor, Mullion and The Lizard are only a five minute drive away. The
house is surrounded by established gardens and even your own short
woodland walk children (and adults too!) will adore the bamboo
tunnel and watching the chickens. Lots of sandy beaches are about
2 miles away. Kennack Sands a favourite childhood haunt of
Daphne du Mauriers offers golden sand and gorgeous rock
pools guaranteeing hours of fun. Kynance possibly one of the
most scenic neaches in England - offers a climb down with fantastic
views. Once there treat yourself to a sandwich or a cream tea on the
terrace of the Kynance café

Wow! We just
got from a weeks stay at Ruan Major, it was so beautiful we did
not want to leave, the location is excellent and the cottage was
fully equipped and very lovingly decorated and maintained. The Owners,
John and Penny made us very welcome. We hope to visit again :-)
The Lizard
area is probably the most beautiful area in cornwall, we all loved
it. Mita

A very pleasant
stay. The cottage is spacious, well furnished and decorated and
more than we expected. John & Penny live next door and are very
welcoming hosts even taking delivery of our groceries for the week.
They were completely unobtrusive but equally available to answer
questions.
We therefore wholeheartedly recommend the cottage

We had a delightful time at Ruan Major cottage. The cottage is situated in a beautiful isolated area with a lovely garden great for exploring. The cottage itself was spacious and very well equipped with all home comforts, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. The bedrooms were also comfortable and spacious and our three children settled in very well. The owners, John and Penny are very friendly and helpful without being obtrusive. Our only complaints that we had whilst we were there was that the break was too short and the weather could have been better! I would highly recommend this cottage particularly for families with children.

Wonderful, beautiful cottage in the most peaceful spot imaginable with a lovely garden and nearby ruined church to explore. Delightful accommodation with everything you could wish provided for, including a welcome basket with milk, bread and lovely fresh eggs. Friendly owners close by for help whenever needed. Couldn't recommend this cottage more.
