Whelk Cottage has a very cosy feel and provides a good location from which to explore the beautiful Lizard Peninsula. With Cadgwith Cove, one of the most photographed coves in England, less than a 10 minute stroll and the National Trust wooded valley at Poltesco only 5 minutes away, this is an ideal spot from which to explore. The stunning beaches at Kynance and Kennack Sands are only a 10 minute drive and St Michael's Mount, St Ives, Falmouth are all within a 45 minute drive. A little further you can visit the Eden Project or The Lost Gardens of Heligan. The villages of Ruan Minor and Cadgwith (which seem to merge into one) offer walking, swimming, fishing and just relaxing. Local amenities include a general store and post office, greengrocer, two churches, the Old Cellars Restaurant and The Cadgwith Cove Inn. There is also a local bus service. The house with its small garden and comfortable accommodation means you can have a very relaxing holiday in an excellent location. The cottage has been refurbished and has retained lots of original features of beamed ceilings and wooden flooring.
